We're renting our second-floor, one-bedroom flat in a new-build, off-road development in the Tottenham Green Conservation area. It will be available from mid-September.

It's a good-sized flat with a bright and spacious kitchen-dining-living space, leading onto a balcony. The balcony itself has plenty of room to sit out and enjoy warmer evenings, and looks onto the pleasant central courtyard, with trees. Lawns and planted borders.

We've recently replaced the flooring and repainted the walls, so it feels nice and fresh. All the built-in appliances (Bosch fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and oven) are in good working order, all the windows are double-glazed.

The development, called Isobel Place, is just off Tottenham Green and well away from any main roads, so it's surprisingly quiet. It's also incredibly well-located for transport ? Within easy walking distance of the Victoria Line (Seven Sisters), Overground (South Tottenham) and national rail (Tottenham Hale, for Stansted Airport). And there are plenty of buses, too.

There's a real sense of community within Isobel Place. The residents look out for one another and keep each other updated via a private Facebook group. The development is separated into blocks, each of which has its own back and front door, and fob access is required for each floor, so it's really secure. There is also a secure bike store on the ground floor of every block.

On Tottenham Green, there is the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, the library, the leisure centre and, on Sundays, there is a popular farmers market. The wider neighbourhood has plenty to recommend it as well. West Green Road is one of the quirkier streets in north London.

And in recent years, some great pubs (High Cross and True Craft), caf?s (With Milk) and restaurants (Chuku's) have opened in the area to cater for the younger people who have been priced out of Stokey and Dalston. We particularly love the Moloko coffee shop - actually inside Seven Sisters Tube station.

And the upside of being in Zone 3 is that you're really close to some great green spaces. Walthamstow Wetlands gets lots of attention (and deservedly so) but the Lee Valley is also great to explore - north to Tottenham Marshes and beyond, south to Hackney Marshes and the Olympic Park.
