Alnwick is an important market town situated just off the A1 Trunk road, some 34 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne. The town has a busy centre deriving trade from the wide local catchment and a vibrant year round tourist trade with visitors drawn by Alnwick Castle, which has increased in popularity due to films such as Harry Potter being shot here, and The Alnwick Garden.
