Exterior


The entire property covers 69.3 hectares (171.2 acres) nestled in the rolling hills of Val d’Orcia and entirely cultivated with certified organic methods.
The heart of the property is the olive grove (18.1 ha) divided into two distinct bodies: The first includes about 1,500 trees over 25 years old, while the second constitutes the bulk of the olive grove with 5,000 trees that are about five years old. The annual production is about 1,400 kg of oil divided between a monovarietal (Leccino or Pendolino, about 200 kg) and six flavored oils (about 1,200 kg) for various dishes.

The arable land (31.6 ha) is mostly cultivated with spelt and legumes with crop rotation (25.0 ha) while the pasture (1.1 ha) could be used both for horses and for planting new crops. The remaining part of the farm is covered by forest (16.7 ha).

The entire property, with the exception of the wooded area, is enclosed by a wooden fence to contain the horses.

A project was approved for the construction of a farm olive oil mill and a new olive grove with terracing of approximately 14.0 hectares.

The property also includes three lakes, with a total capacity of 6,000 cu.m, and a system of underground cisterns (about 90,000 liters in total) that not only meet the water needs of the houses, but also serve to recover rainwater.
