In The Owner's Words:

Along with two of my grown-up children, i’ve loved living at Coach House Mews for the past five years. The thing we love most about this home is its location. The view from the lounge and large kitchen-diner, stretching out over the fields, brings an instant sense of calm – a perfect way to leave the day’s stresses behind.

Being part of the Ranmore Manor and Ranmore Common community has been wonderful. It’s peaceful and respectful, yet there's always someone nearby for a chat or a helping hand if you need it. Living here, surrounded by the stunning Ranmore Common woodlands, has felt idyllic – we’ve never taken for granted the joy of being able to step out of our door and walk for miles without needing the car. The views from the top of the North Downs, just a 10-minute walk away, are spectacular. Winter walks through the snow-covered fields and woods are particularly breathtaking. Even my son-in-law, at 35, couldn’t resist building a snowman!

The wildlife at our back door has been a constant delight – we’ve enjoyed watching the sheep, birds, badgers, hares, and even herds of deer in the early mornings. There’s nothing like the sunsets over the fields or the dramatic skies during a storm. And with no light pollution, the clear night skies are filled with stars, and you can often spot shooting stars!

Our home has always felt safe and cosy. Even when i’ve lived here on my own recently, the supportive community and rural setting have made it feel like the perfect retreat. Yet, it’s only a short drive to East Horsley or Dorking, where we’ve had easy access to schools, shops, restaurants, and pubs. We even have a fantastic local wine merchant just a three-minute walk from the house!

We’ve made so many happy memories here – from family gatherings in the spacious kitchen-diner to peaceful evenings after work. The solid concrete floors offer real privacy, which has made it easy for us to each have our own space when needed.

After five wonderful years, we’ve decided it’s time to move on. My daughter and son-in-law have married and started their own family, my eldest daughter has moved to Asia for a new job, and i’ve accepted a role in the South West. It’s been a difficult decision, and we’ll always treasure this house, but life has moved on and it’s time for a new chapter.

I hope that whoever moves into this beautiful home finds the same sense of peace, happiness, and community that we did.
