Property description

**Sellers Insight**

We’ve proudly owned our charming home for over a decade, and it has truly been a place where we’ve created countless memories. One of the things we love most about living here is our neighbours. They are friendly and always willing to lend a hand. The sense of community is something that really attracted us to this area. When we first stumbled upon this house, it was the sprawling backyard and proximity to excellent schools that sealed the deal for us. We were looking at several properties, but this one felt like home the moment we walked in.

The location is perfect; it’s near parks and recreational facilities, which is a big plus for families like ours. As parents, we find this location ideal for raising our children. There are playgrounds and family-friendly events throughout the year. It’s safe and has a great sense of community. We’ve made lifelong friends here, and it’s comforting to know our kids have a supportive environment.

Commuting to work has never been easier, thanks to quick access to major roads and public transport. It’s just a short drive to the city, which has been a huge advantage for our work-life balance. We also appreciate the rich history of our home. Built in the 1970s, the previous owners lovingly restored its original features while adding modern touches. We kept many of those updates, which have made it such a comfortable place to live. As we prepare to move, we reflect on our time in this beloved home.

We believe the next ideal owner will be a young family, just like we were when we first arrived. They will be able to fill it with laughter and love. We feel proud of the changes we’ve made over the years. Renovating the kitchen into a cosy gathering space has been a highlight. It’s where we spend a lot of our family time. However, our favourite room has to be the sunroom. It’s bright and airy, perfect for enjoying morning coffee or reading a book. While we are excited about our next chapter, there are things we will miss dearly. We’ll miss our cosy living room, where we spent countless family game nights, and the warm community that welcomed us with open arms.

We’ve loved every moment here, but it’s time for the next adventure, as our family continues to grow. We purchased our home in December 2015, and over the past nearly nine years, it has truly become a vibrant hub for our family. Our neighbors are friendly couples who have lived in their homes for over 25 years. They’ve been incredibly supportive, understanding the joys and challenges of raising young children.

What initially attracted us to this house was its convenient location—a short walk to the mainline station to London, making our commutes easy. The area is safe and perfect for raising kids, with a great school and a playpark just across the road. We’ve loved exploring the lovely countryside walks nearby, which have provided endless adventures for our family and our dog. The sense of community here is wonderful. Local events at the Marks Tey village hall have always brought families together, and Halloween is a highlight of the year, with everyone joining in the fun, making it special for the kids.

When it came time to choose this property, the spacious layout was a big draw for us. The large lounge and separate dining room have been perfect for family gatherings, and with four good-sized bedrooms and a driveway that accommodates multiple cars, hosting friends and family has been a breeze. The house has a rich history, built in 1971, and we learned that the dining room was once a garage.

We’ve made our own mark by enhancing the garden, transforming it into an inviting space that feels like an extension of our living area. Summer BBQs and watching the kids play have created countless happy memories.

Our favourite room has to be the lounge. It’s perfect for entertaining, yet it can feel cosy when we section it off with sofas. We’ve had memorable Christmases here, watching our children unwrap presents and enjoying family dinners. New Year's Eve parties have also filled the house with laughter and joy. Recently, we updated the downstairs with new flooring and a stylish bathroom that has received many compliments.

However, we know we will miss the summer BBQs in the garden and our Sunday roasts in the dining room the most. The local community has been a safe haven for our children, allowing them to play freely and explore. We’ve enjoyed many walks in the nearby countryside, which the kids affectionately call "Shire Tey." Plus, being just a ten-minute walk from Poplars Garden Centre has been a delightful bonus, with its farm shop and even a hairdresser. As we prepare to move closer to our children’s secondary school in Colchester, it’s bittersweet. While we look forward to this new chapter, we will carry with us a treasure trove of memories from a home that has truly been our sanctuary.
