Property description

This Is A Home Of Epic Proportions! A 4.32 Acre Plot, Over 4700 Sqft, Stables And Swimming Pool!

The Sellers View
Our family moved to Hedgerow Farm in 2002, when my sister and I were young teenagers. We saw our parents transform it from a run-down single story building into the beautiful house it is today. Our time at home on Hedgerow Farm was filled with happy memories of big family parties, friends forever coming and going, and even a family wedding in the beautiful garden. There is plenty of space for hosting, which makes the house feel like a really welcoming place, the buzz when the house is full of people is joyful. We spent summers in the pool, eating home-grown vegetables, and roaming around the garden and nearby woods with our dog. Winters were for board games by the wood burner and sledging in the garden. Christmas dinner in the conservatory on a snowy day is just idyllic.

The house offered everything we needed, an office and workshop for dad, plenty of space for growing flowers and vegetables for mum, and endless entertainment for us kids and our pets. Kings Hill is close enough to town to make trips in and out as and when, while being far enough away to benefit from the peace and quiet of living in the countryside. Alton station being so close made for exciting trips on the Watercress Line for younger cousins visiting and precious family memories of day trips to London and other adventurous places.

There are footpaths and bridleways linking the village to other nearby villages, so there’s plenty of options for a Sunday afternoon walk ending with a pub roast, and Bushy Leaze woods are a stones throw away for warm evening walks in the summer, invigorating winter walks in the crisp air and a stunning carpet of bluebells that appears every spring. It’s hard to imagine a better place to grow up.

The Agents View
This home really is the epitome of countryside living, but is located perfectly for those who don't want to be too remote either.

The house alone provides over 4700 sqft of accommodation and graces you with many external buildings on it 4.32 acre plot. The most noteworthy of these is the six stable block with tack room and box storage. These stables have their own separate entrance from the road, meaning all equine traffic is kept well away from the main house itself. There are two cars ports which give cover to at least four vehicles, a separate office (properly kitted out with data lines), a pool house with heated swimming pool, shower and toilet. And for those who like to grow their own, there is an orchard with a few varieties of apple, two green houses and raised beds.

The ground floor comprises seven reception rooms and an impressive hallway which connects them all. These spaces are extremely versatile, so you could use them in anyway way that would best suit your families needs. As there is a shower room on the ground floor, you could easily use one as a bedroom if you host family who may not be so good with stairs.

The first floor of this home offers you five double bedrooms, two large en suites and a family bathroom. The master bedroom is such an impressive size and I do love its balcony that gives views over the majority of this impressive plot.

The Area View
Kings Hill is located within the idillic village of Beech, which is roughly two miles west of Alton in Hampshire. Alton is host to many great local amenities, whether your seeking shops, restaurants, coffee shops or pubs. The A339 isn't far away and will see you to Basingstoke in around 17 minutes by car, or head 10 minutes the other way and you can visit Jane Austens house in the neighbouring village of Chawton. Alton Train Station is 3.3 miles away and is on the mainline to London Waterloo, getting you there in about an hour and ten minutes on average.
