This was my childhood home until I got married. I absolutely loved the wonderful garden which was more like an adventure playground. We had a tree house complete with an aerial runway and a large Wendy house. We could play at the back of the garden whilst my parents loafed in the front flower garden. Although Cheam Close is very, very quiet most of the local kids came to play in our garden because it was such an adventure.

Latterly, my father suffered from Alzheimer’s and spent a many months in a care home which wasn’t very pleasant or convenient. My Mum decided that she would never go to a care home and so built a huge annexe for her to live independently but leaving enough room in the main house for one of my siblings to live in and watch over her in the annexe.

Mum was an avid gardener for all of her life and she was keen that the garden was accessible to her by wheelchair from the annex. Consequently, the lower part of the garden is wheelchair friendly with complete access across the back of the house and the two ponds which attracts all manner of birds and wildlife including a heron that emptied the pond of fish! It is idyllic.

In the end, Mum converted two bedrooms in the main house into a small self-contained suite for a live-in carer complete with en-suite bathroom. She lived in relative splendour for the rest of her days surrounded by flowers, bees and insects.

We had annual family gatherings in the huge garden room with space for 40 people regularly around a huge table. It’s such a sociable house. I sincerely wish the new owners as much joy and good family times as we all had in the house.

Where to start with this one! The house sits on a huge corner plot and has been vastly extended to make the most of the gardens and create a huge amount of living space to ground floor. The space is ideal for multi-generational living or could even be utilised as a self contained annexe. The location is fantastic - walking distance to the station, close to the town centre and with lots of schools and parks nearby as well. The house is being sold with no onward chain complications.

Cheam Close is a little cul-de-sac tucked away off Harmans Water Road and is around 1 mile, or about a 20 minute walk, from Martins Heron mainline station, Tesco Superstore and Costa Coffee. You're close to a number of well regarded local school and there are other local shops & pubs just round the corner for the day to day conveniences and tonnes of parks and green space a short stroll away like Savernake Park & Harmans Water Playing fields. Bracknell Leisure Centre is just round the corner and Swinley Forest is also around 1 mile away. The Lexicon Shopping Centre with a huge array of restaurants, shops, cafe's, a cinema... Is a short drive just 1.5 miles away and you've got easy access into the neighbouring town of Ascot. Commuter links are great with the train station in walking distance, and both the M3 & M4 motorway networks driveable in under 10 minutes.
