Property description

Detached Edwardian House Close To The Station!

Owners comments...
I moved to Courthouse road in 2006 when my children were in primary school. This house and street has been ideal for bringing up children.
The house has been well maintained and is a good mix of new and old, with some character features combined with up to date kitchen and bathrooms and new windows and boiler. This is a comfortable house to make a home.
The kitchen diner/play room which is a lovely bright room was really useful when the children were small, with enough space to play in as well as having direct access to the patio and garden while
meals were being prepared, or for them to have quiet time away from the living room bustle and TV.
Later It meant I could enjoy a coffee with friends separate from teenage noise! With quite large bedrooms the children have had comfortable private space as they grew older.
And for myself as I have always worked from home a lot (years before covid), the second reception room has a really nice feel and made a great home office and music teaching space
while still being close to the family. While not an avid gardener the garden has plenty of space for play equipment and ball games as well as for flower and veg beds, and the office/kitchen/patio
circle (admittedly with a great sound system) has proved to have great flow for happy parties and gatherings over the years.

The house is within easy walking distance to the Furze Platt infant, junior and senior schools so. There are plenty of families of all ages nearby which makes a nice community mix. My neighbours have become firm friends, without being intrusive. We quietly look out for each other. Another benefit is that having Furze Platt station half a mile away meant that my children could easily commute by themselves to the grammar school in Marlow.
My children have flown the nest now and it is time for me to downsize and let another family thrive in this space. I will miss this house and road but fervently hope that it will bring another family
many happy times to remember.

Stuart's comments...

I really like how much charm and character has been kept with this house, and in true Edwardian style there are big rooms, spacious hallways, and high ceilings throughout. Walking through the front door you've got a nice entrance hall with storage under the stairs and a downstairs loo. The first reception room is to the front with an open fireplace and a big bay window. The second reception room is toward the middle and opens into the garden. The kitchen and dining room run toward the back of the house with plenty of windows and a quirky layout and use of space. Upstairs there are four great-sized bedrooms and two bathrooms, both of which have recently been refitted to a lovely standard. Exposed floorboards, fireplaces and sash windows are just some of the character features you can expect to find throughout this lovely home.

Area comments...

Locations don't come much better than this if you're looking to be close enough to walk or cycle to the station and town centre, whilst being far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle that comes with it. The house is almost directly opposite Oaken Grove Park complete with tennis courts, ponds, and a huge amount of open space perfect for walking the dog. There's a Tesco Extra a short walk away for your daily essentials and Maidenhead Town Centre has everything you need to spend a leisurely afternoon. It's just over 1 mile to get to the station with fast train links to London as well as the Lizzy Line connecting you straight to the London Underground. Road and transport links are aplenty with the M4 close by, and there are plenty of schools within easy reach as well.
