We were first-home buyers of this wonderful Poplar home back in 2018. We enjoyed living in Shinfield Meadows, a quiet family-friendly community with a good blend of countryside and village ambience. Its location next to Shinfield Studios and the city of Reading is quite invaluable.

Given that we traveled quite extensively due to the nature of our consulting jobs, our 'Poplar' home, as we kindly named it, remained in pristine condition throughout these years.

Poplar's quiet location at the entrance of a cul-de-sac and on a corner lot offers privacy, low traffic, and a wide view of the Shinfield Meadows tree line. And the phase 2 neighborhood. The corner lot also comprises a sizable backyard and plenty of space to park including unblocked visitor parking spaces.

Poplar's ample four-bedroom layout, the largest and only property offered by Linden Homes at Shinfield Meadows, has an extended room connection on the second floor and a tall front window to allow extra daylight and floor space to enjoy. And our selection of light-coloured floors, tiles, cupboards, and rugs added up to its radiant and light atmosphere.

Quite simply an awesome family home in a great location. Firstly you enter into a lovely big entrance hall, and the eye is drawn straight through the kitchen and into the garden, and also where you'll find the conveniences of under-stairs storage and the downstairs loo. To one side of the hallway here's a good size snug room, perfect as a second TV room, playroom or great size office. And to the other is the main living room with a big bay window and a dual aspect letting light flow through. Heading to the back off the house, there's a vast nearly 30ft kitchen/dining room with more windows and big French doors opening into the garden. There's an easterly aspect to the kitchen, so the perfect place to wake up with a coffee in the morning. Literally, just a few minutes walk you will find the popular Langley Mead nature reserve, which is great for walks and you also have various play parks close by for children. Within a short walk or drive you have plenty of amenities including Dobbies Garden Centre which has a Waitrose local store, along with a great butchers and within Shinfield Village you have Co-Op a few popular pubs, a post office and the very popular Crumbs cafè, which we love. There are main bus routes close by taking you into Reading or Wokingham towns and you are just a few minutes from Mereoak Park and Ride or junction 11 of the M4, making it a really well connected location. Not forgetting you now have train links with the Green Park station connecting you to Reading and Basingstoke, giving you great access into London too.
