Nenthead is located in the County of Cumbria, Northwest England, four miles south-east of the town of Alston, 25 miles east of the major city of Carlisle and around 40 mins by car to Newcastle. There is a small school for children aged 5-11 years. There is also a children's play area, along with a community shop and post office, cycle shop serving the C2C cyclists, The Hive which is a gallery, café and gift shop open for special events throughout the year.
